Bob Aherne is a colleague of Tony Tulse and Dudley Camden at Harringay Greenlanes Transport. Tony bribes him to take George West's vacuum cleaner to the right address after he and Dudley deliver it to Syd Enham and are threatened with the sack. Bob finds himself having to deal with Hillary Enham, who annoys him intensely, and unknown to him gives him the wrong vacuum cleaner.
