Ken Sington is a parking attendant who finds brief unexpected fame as a singer. He is assigned as getaway driver to Don when he escapes from prison, and together they head to a talent contest in Wick, where Ken is supposed to be in charge of the car park. However Don persuades Ken to sing at the contest and he is selected to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Manchester, where he comes 19th out of 26. He goes back to his old job as a parking attendant, where he gets the opportunity to attend the Cup Final at Wembley.
